Valentine's Cards

I bought the Basic Grey Bittersweet card kit to make my husband a Valentine's Day card.  I don't feel I have the creative flair when it comes to making cards so this was a good option for me. I made all of the cards in the kit (so now I don't need to make James another Valentine's card for 7 years!!! whoo hoo talk about forward planning). Anyway the kit was easy to use and got the creative juices flowing which helped with making the 1st birthday party invites.

New Year Resolution

Hi its been ages I know.  A trip to Sydney, braces and 6 teeth being pulled stops the scrap creation let me tell you. I have also returned back to work (very sad) but must be done if I want money to spend on scrap supplies. I did put together a calendar for my desk at work.  My first just for me scrap item using photo's of Charlotte, and its all mine!!

Invitations

I started my scrapbook experience with invitations, specifically our wedding invitations.  Who wants to pay $500 + for someone else to make them! not me I say. You will see that my style and confidence has increased with each invitation I have made.  They aren't hard to do, just a bit fiddly until your happy with the test product and then production line central all the way. One word of advice.  If you are going to use vellum to print on, print one sheet at a time and allow them to dry completely unstacked.  Otherwise you end up with ink smudges.

Cards, Cards, Cards

Ok so you have probably noticed I have not kept up with my goals of posting once a week.  But wedding, party's and Christmas have kept me pretty busy and away from my scrap room.  Sad I know. However, I did achieve my goal of making my own Christmas cards this year (as well as a couple of wedding cards too)!.

Made a gate fold card for Alicia and Matt's wedding gift card.  I absolutely love this Japanese design paper but I can't remember who makes it or where I got it from (was in my scrap box).

Wedding treasure box

So..... At the moment I am working on the "gift treasure box" for my best friends wedding.  For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, now days the bride and groom normally ask for gifts in the form of money or gift vouchers.  Lots of people use either a cardboard box or a wishing well to collect their gifts.  I am making a pirates treasure chest instead as it ties in with the wedding message and theme.

I am going to show you step by step how I made the box.  I will also try and load up a video of me making my second master piece (we will see how it goes!!!) Step 1 Obviously select the box you want to use.  I also decided to add in a 7 Gypsies book door knob so I had my handy husband drill out a bit of my box so that it sat in flush (check out the pic you will see what I mean).
